Ms. Ceconi concentrates her practice on all types of matrimonial and family law matters through litigation, mediation, and arbitration. She frequently handles matters involving complex executive compensation and perquisites, business valuations, family wealth management and creative parenting plans, among other family related matters. She is known to be a fierce advocate who works diligently to resolve her cases but is unafraid to litigate when the right case calls for it.
Due to her hard work and commitment to the practice of family law, Ms. Ceconi received the Saul Tischler Award from the New Jersey State Bar Association for lifetime achievement in Family Law, the highest award given to a family law practitioner in the State. She also received the William J. McCloud Award from the Union County Bar Association in recognition of her outstanding commitment to the Union County Family Part.
Ms. Ceconi formerly served as President of the Union County Bar Association, Chair of the New Jersey State Bar Association, President of the Summit Bar Association and the first woman to lead the Barry Croland Northern New Jersey Family Law Inns of Court. She remains active in the organized bar, including Chair of the Union County Judicial and Prosecutorial Appointments Committee, Executive Member of the NJSBA Family Law Executive Committee (FLEC) and a Master in the Virginia A. Long Family Law Inns of Court. She presently chairs a subcommittee to FLEC to ensure the confidentiality of family law pleadings in the Family Division.
Ms. Ceconi is frequently asked to lecture on various family law topics to lawyers and judges. Annually, she teaches incoming law clerks on the NJ Court Rules regarding the child support guidelines and their application to family support awards. She has lectured extensively on topics such as basic divorce rights, mediation, expert witnesses, preparation of custody trials, parental alienation, equitable distribution of executive compensation, business valuations and the impact of COVID-19, determining income for support, among others.
Beginning her career as a sole practitioner, Ms. Ceconi has never forgotten the importance of knowing her clients and understanding their individual needs. She is practical and creative in pursuing her client’s goals and priorities and understands the importance of knowing the details of a client’s case and preparation to get the best results.
