Marguerite Simon is committed to continuing service in helping litigants resolve their outstanding conflicts. She brings many years of judicial experience to her present Alternative Dispute practice. In 1984 Judge Simon was appointed a Judge of the Superior Court of New Jersey with assignments in the Family Part, Special Civil Part and Law Division. She was assigned to the Chancery Division in 1997 and named Presiding Judge of Chancery in 1999. In Chancery she presided over contested elections, ballot and voting issues, contested matters in the Probate Part , and all General Equity Case’s including corporate and partnership dissolutions, oppressed shareholder cases , receiverships, restrictive covenants, trade secrets, specific performance, constructive trusts, partition and oversight of medical emergencies. Upon retirement Judge Simon joined her son’s la w firm, the Law Offices of Lawrence M Simon. In 2010 both she and her son joined Javerbaum Wurgaft. Her practice is primarily Alternate Dispute Resolution. She serves as a mediator and arbitrator in private party and court appointed matters. Judge Simon has assisted in the resolution of complex commercial cases, injunctive relief matters, corporate and shareholder proceedings, employment disputes, land use,litigation, prerogative writ actions , contested estates and guardianships and other significant contested matters.

Marguerite Simon currently serves as one of four Commissioners of the New Jersey Election Law Enforcement Commission (ELEC), the independent governmental agency that is responsible for monitoring the integrity of campaign finances in elections in New Jersey. ELEC also administers public financing for those running in primary and general elections for Governor of New Jersey. She was nominated in 2017 by then Governor Christie at the request of Senator Loretta Weinberg. Judge Simon is honored to participate in the important work of this watchdog agency.
