August 11, 2020, Sussex County, NJ – Lauren D. Fraser, Esq., Partner in Javerbaum Wurgaft Hicks Kahn Wikstrom & Sinins, PC, recently settled a motor vehicle accident lawsuit for $2,900,000.00 on behalf of her client.
On May 10, 2019, the victim’s car was rear-ended by a dump truck owned by a landscaping company and pushed into oncoming traffic causing him to have a head-on collision with a second vehicle. The crash occurred on Route 23 in Hardyston. He was revived at the scene and transported by Medivac helicopter to a local hospital.
Among other injuries, the victim, age 55, suffered a significant spinal cord injury which has left him paralyzed from the chest down.
“Although this man and this family will never enjoy the life they had before this crash, we hope that the resolution of their case will at least help to make up for what has happened to them,” stated the family’s attorney, Lauren D. Fraser, a Partner in the Newton and Morristown offices of Javerbaum Wurgaft Hicks Kahn Wikstrom & Sinins, PC.
The injured man spent 42 days in the Intensive Care Unit, in a medically induced coma and on a ventilator. He regained consciousness and then spent months of rehabilitation working to regain his speech and use of his upper body.
He now receives at home care with his wife at his side. A former union carpenter, he was an active family man who enjoyed the outdoors and riding his motorcycle.
